Black frameless shower and wet room panels are clearly in vogue. At Glass Parts Direct we've seen a significant increase in the demand from customers wishing to add black into their bathrooms.
Most commonly on their glass shower panels, and bespoke glass shower enclosures. Black being a high contrast colour allows for any more subtle colours in a bathroom to really stand out, most noticeably white, so when they are combined the effect of simultaneous contrast becomes even more apparent. This helps all elements of the room to stand out that much more.

So where are these black elements being used? Well, typically on a single glass shower panel black is being used on the U-Channel, the main support holding the glass in place. It is so popular that customers want to show it off, and so are fixing the U-Channel directly onto the finished tiled surface and onto the tray or wet room floor, as opposed to recessing and hiding the U-Channel, in order to create the truly frameless, or floating look for the glass shower panel.
With a complete custom glass enclosure, the hinges whether glass-to-glass, or wall-to-glass hinges, are black, in combination with the selected black shower door pull handle or door knob. Frameless shower support bars where needed are also popular in black, and complete the enclosure perfectly, and of course provide an extra level of rigidity to the design.
You also don't need to pay a premium price for black components either, as they are generally only slightly more expensive than the more standard chrome or brite anodised counter parts. However on occasion due to the high demand, there can be the occasional longer wait for them to arrive.

There are two main ways the black components are categorised and that is either black or matte black. The matte black components have a slightly larger range of components, this is due to the customer demand. However at Glass Parts Direct we're able to source reliably from our suppliers of components, so if you have a question about availability please get in contact.
